Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic 14-membered macrocyclic macrolide antibiotic. Its spectrum of antimicrobial activity and mode of action are essentially comparable to those of erythromycin.

Primary Indications

1. Indicated for the following infections caused by susceptible strains:

(1) Upper respiratory tract infections;

(2) Lower respiratory tract infections;

(3) Ear, nose and throat infections;

(4) Genitourinary infections (excluding gonococcal infections);

(5) Skin and soft tissue infections.

2. May also be used for Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Chlamydia trachomatis infections, Legionnaires' disease, and similar conditions.

This product is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this product, erythromycin, or other macrolide antibiotics.
